Industrial Robot and Drone Services

Australian Droid + Robot are certified by the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) to operate our drones in Australian airspace. All of our pilots hold current CASA RPAS licences. Our chief pilot, Dr. Dawid Preller, is a champion large-scale, acrobatic RC pilot and drone designer. We have a large fleet of fixed wing and multi-rotor aircraft and an array of sensors including laser scanning, still, video and thermal cameras to deliver your aerial survey data. We also have a fleet of ground robots that can be fitted with laser scanners, cameras and thermal imaging to survey areas where it is unsafe for personnel.
Our build facilities include computer-aided design and computer aided manufacture with full in house cutting and machining, routing and laser cutting. If we don’t have a vehicle that fits your requirements, we can design and build one quickly.

Aerial Mapping + Survey

Australian Droid + Robot have a fleet of fixed wing and multi-rotor drones capable of high-resolution aerial mapping including the use of RTK GPS systems to deliver centimetre accuracy.
Whether you need to work out the drainage contours to position a dam on a farm, or you need to calculate cut and fill for progress payments for earthworks, we can provide fully geo-referenced data with areas, volumes, contours and topography, point clouds and DXF files. If required, we can arrange for this work to be certified by qualified surveyors.
Australian Droid + Robot can even produce animated “fly-throughs” once a 3D model has been completed. These animations are a great tool for showing your customers an overview of civil and construction works.
Other uses include high-resolution images of roofs for insurance or maintenance requirements or detailed asset inspections.
Our team are available twenty-four hours a day for emergency work including disaster recovery. Given our large fleet of aircraft and payloads, we can be on the road immediately to provide an overview of damage.

Thermal Imaging

The advent of lightweight medium resolution thermal cameras has revolutionised thermography. We can now fly both fixed and multi-rotor drones with thermal imaging and RTK GPS positioning. We are continually astounded by the quality of data that our customers achieve with these systems.
One person with a drone can now in a couple of hours do what would have taken days with elevating work platforms and a team of people.
As our cameras are radiometric, we can quickly supply 3D models or orthomosaics or video files showing actual temperatures of buildings, roofs, power lines or any other structure.
Of particular interest these days is the ability to quickly radiograph solar panels to detect bad cells. Thermal imaging is able to detect “hot spots” in solar panels that indicate a problem with the cells. This is of particular interest at two stages of the installation;
1) Immediately after installation to ensure that the contractors has supplied a fully functioning system.
2) Prior to the expiration of any warranty period so that repairs can be conducted at the contractor’s cost, not the customers.
Of course, regular survey of larger installations to ensure they are in peak condition is always a good idea.

Of course there are some fantastic aerial videographers out there; Australian Droid + Robot don’t claim to be one of them! However, we do have a fleet of fixed wing and multirotor drones fitted with stabilised gimbals and 4K cameras with up to 30x zoom. If you require detailed photography or video we are more than happy to work with you to get the footage you need. Just don’t ask us to be creative! All of our staff are engineers!
