This project, however, highlights the Explora’s versatility across the entire value chain—from production support to environmental stewardship.In the rugged heart of Western Australia’s Pilbara, our Explora is being deployed into old underground workings—areas too hazardous for human entry—to protect a federally listed vulnerable species: the elusive Ghost Bat (Macroderma gigas).This project perfectly embodies our mission, delivering Insight without Interruption, and proving that the future of industry is rooted in precision, safety, and sustainability. This successful deployment underscores how investing in robust operational technology pays dividends in every area, including regulatory compliance and corporate responsibility.Key Technology in Action:
- Remote Data Acquisition: The Explora XL safely navigates complex and confined underground adits, collecting high-value data critical to understanding bat behavior and habitat health.
- Precision Scanning for Conservation: Utilizing LiDAR technology, the Explora XL performs detailed 3D mapping of the underground workings. This crucial spatial data informs the development and deployment of future modular, artificial bat habitats.
- Non-Invasive Sampling: The Explora XL collects Ghost Bat scat (droppings) for genetic studies, eliminating the need for human presence and ensuring zero disturbance to the vulnerable species and their environment.
